10 of the most Expensive Celebrity Auctions

Remember how we are always celebrating the fact that celebrities get all the perks while they are in their careers and like that is the life to have, they have it all blah blah. Well do I have a news flash for you people. As it turns out, celebrities don’t only have it all while they are working, their families have it all after they die even, in the literal sense of the phrase. See what happens is that there are some major die-hard fans of these celebrities out there who are willing to pay every dime they have just to own a piece of (and some gross ones will pay for parts as well) their favorite star. I have compiled for you a list of such celebrity auctions which were massively paid for. No wonder they insure their butts and what not, they can auction them when and if they go broke. That ought to be a living on its own.

10. MARK MCGWIRE’S 70TH HOME RUN BASEBALL

When ever you hear about Mark you know that something good is about to happen. As far as his at-bats-per-home-run ratio is concerned one knows that he is the best coming second only to Babe Ruth where both of them have the ratio of 10.61 and 11.80 respectively. He is one player regarding whom history had decided that he would be playing for Major League Baseball. He biggest breakthrough was defeating Chicago Cubs’ Sammy Sosa, in 1998, when he scored the most home runs in a single season of the game. The baseball that helped him was bought by Todd McFarlane (a comic book writer and music producer career wise) for a whooping $3 million. The ball was sold in 1999.

Ten Weird Side Effects to Common Medicine

Did you ever happen to read the side effects of the most common household medicine? There’s a whole list on the literature that’s provided with the medicine. If you happen to read it I can honestly say that you might even stop eating that particular medicine. But listing those side effects haven’t got anything to do with them actually happening really, they are only listed for legal purposes, you know, just in case they actually do happen. I once read the side effects to a common headache tablet. I will not get into a lot of details here but one of the side effects to eating that tablet was ‘headache’. Ironic isn’t it? This article describes the ten really weird side effects that you are probably seeing for the first time.

10. SENSE OF SMELL

In order to treat congestive heart and control high blood pressures, more often than not, Vasotec is prescribed. While this drug can have an impact on all your senses, the one that takes the most severe hit is your sense of smell. Yes, this drug renders you incapable of smelling for the period in which you are under the side effect. It wears off of course. But wouldn’t it be weird if you can’t smell for an entire day or something?

10 Prophecies that you Probably Never Knew

Do you believe in prophecies? Do you believe in karma and predictions and everything of that sort? Well, whether or not you believe in them, most people seem to think that they exist. They must have some reason for it so for now I’ll just go with them and tell you that I believe that prophecies might exist. Over the years many prophecies have been proven ‘true’, however, there is debate that it was just a coincidence. In the past many prophecies have been made and I am sure many are still left which haven’t been fulfilled. This particular article talks about some prophecies that you probably are not aware of. But fear not, we will enlighten you.

10. ALOIS IRLMAIER

He was a simpler German who lived in the 1950s. He predicted the WWIII and I quote, “Everything calls peace. Shalom! Then it will occur — a new Middle East war suddenly flares up, big naval forces are facing hostility in the Mediterranean — the situation is strained. But the actual firing spark is set on fire in the Balkans: I see a ‘large one’ falling, a bloody dagger lies beside him –then impact is on impact. Two men kill a third high-ranked. They were paid by other people. One of the murderers is a small black man, the other a little bit taller, with bright-colored hair. I think it will be at the Balkans, but I cannot say it exactly. […] Immediately the revenge comes from across the large water. However the yellow dragon invades in Alaska and Canada at the same time. But he comes not far. And then it rains a yellow dust in a line. When the golden city is destroyed, it begins…”

The interesting bit is that he predicted that the war will begin in the Middle East. Well, that makes me wonder.

Ten Interesting and Unusual Wikipedia Articles

Unless you have been living on the moon, I’m sure you know what Wikipedia is. Let’s just face it; most of us probably wouldn’t have graduated like we did if it weren’t for Wikipedia. Wikipedia is this giant collection of authentic articles about literally everything. Wikipedia serves as a massive digital library of sorts and proves to be really helpful when you are out of options. One thing about Wikipedia is that it basically allows anyone to edit the articles so, at times, you will find articles that are a little inappropriate and weird; unusual is the word. They are interesting but unusual. These articles discuss various articles taken from Wikipedia that fit perfectly with the definition I just gave. Although, we are uncertain as to whether these articles are valid.

10. PLACES

The Mojave phone booth attracts a lot of attention primarily because of its location. You know how you are walking on a very deserted land with not a soul to see in either direction, no network on your mobile phone and you just wish, ‘God, if there was telephone booth’. Well, if you are lost in Mojave National Preserve in California, you might as well just see a phone booth. The nearest paved road is eight miles from this phone booth while the nearest numbered highway is 24 km. I wonder why it was built where it was built. The phone booth was placed here in the 1960s. Some things just make you wonder.

Ten Weird and Unusual Ways to Die

I know we don’t like to hear it very often but let me just say it once; a day will come when all of us are going to die. Now how we die is a different story. Some of us might die in some, well; funny accident (God forbid) and some might be rather painful and serious. You can’t put your finger on the way your life will end. God, dying would have been so much better if we could have chosen the exact way we were to die but since that cannot happen let’s get back to the topic. This particular article discusses some of the most unusual ways to die. It’s an interesting read so give it a shot.

10. CHRYSIPPUS OF SOLI

Chrysippus was a philosopher. He devised many theories on ethics, physics and religion. His favorite topic was logic. He happens to be the first person recorded to have died because of laughter in 207 B.C. He fed his donkey some wine and while the donkey comically tried to feed on figs, Chrysippus kept laughing. That laughter marked his end.

Ten Most Brutal Torture Practices Still Used

Earlier we did a post regarding the most brutal tortures of all time that were used by the ancient civilization. You will not believe how lucky we to have been born in this era. But even still there are punishments that have made it through those ancient times and are still practiced in a lot of countries. I wonder why, in those countries, people would commit crimes or why such methods of capital punishment still exist. Even though the following methods are not as brutal as the ones discussed in the earlier post, these will still send shivers down your spine and you will thank God a million times to be seeing them on your computer screens instead of actually experiencing them.

10. CHEMICAL BLINDING

The name says it all folks. The very unlucky condemned prisoner will have to go through the terrible fate of blindness and that too via gruesomely painful methods. the prisoner is usually tied down to a chair and his mouth is clothed so as to avoid hearing the screams. Later a drop of Hydrochloric Acid is put in each eye. That one drop ends of burning the entire eye. Imagine what pain you have to go through if the tiniest bit of hair falls in your eye, or better yet, imagine soapy water that goes into your eye. Get the idea?
